What could be better than shopping and donating to your favorite cause? You can do both at iGive.com.

The on-line Mall at iGive.com features many of your favorite and trusted retailers like Barnes & Noble, JC Penny, PetsMart and over 400 others. Registration is easy and you can start shopping right away from the mall at iGive or from your favorite website.

Each store donates a set amount of your purchase to your specified charity (minus shipping and taxes) . There are no administrative costs or fees to you or the charity. iGive keeps track of the percentage earned for the charity, and sends a check to the charity once the total reaches $25.00. All the stores at the iGive Mall offer safe and secure shopping, and don’t sell your name, or e-mail address.

Give so others can get help

One of the best ways to help victims of sexual violence in your community is through a financial donation. Crisis intervention services are needed every day of the year, yet they cannot be provided without adequate funding. Grants, client contributions and agency fundraising projects cannot cover all the costs associated with office space, communications, personnel and community awareness activities.

Everyone knows someone who has been hurt by sexual violence!

Whether you live in Carroll County or across the nation, sexual violence and the trauma it brings to its victims affects everyone. The majority of sexual assaults are never reported, and many victims don’t tell their families about what happened for years. Most of the people who receive counseling services from sexual assault centers have never told their families about the abuse prior to receiving counseling!

As a non-profit organization, your donation to Rape Crisis makes a difference. Gifts make it possible for us to provide free of charge the confidential crisis and counseling services needed by victims of sexual crime24 hours a day, every day of the year. We also work just as hard to prevent sexual violence through education and advocacy. Each year Rape Crisis educators speak to thousands of children and adults to teach them what they can do to reduce their risk and where to get help if it’s needed. (For more information about our education program see section "Service Volume.)

Gifts May Come in Several Forms

  • Write a Check - You may consider a monetary gift now or by the end of the year. If you itemize, such a gift can reduce your tax bill.

  • Donate Property or Stock - To avoid capital gains, you may wish to donate appreciated property that you have held for longer than one year, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. Contact your investment advisor as early as possible to help you complete the transfer.

  • Take advantage of the United Way Campaign in your workplace - To become an affiliated member of United Way of Central Maryland, programs like Rape Crisis undergo financial scrutiny and abide by set standards for use of donated funds. Our designation number is 5650.

  • Make a memorial donation - By making a donation in the name of the deceased person, your remembrance helps a victim of sexual violence heal and grow. Your memorial donation will be acknowledged and a handsome notification card sent to family members within 48 hours of receipt.
