You are not alone.
We can help you understand your options.

Our Mission

Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County is a non-profit organization established in 1978 to provide free services to victim-survivors of sexual violence, their friends, and family members.

Our Services

We provide free and confidential services for victim-survivors of all types of sexual violence, who are now over the age of 12, whether it happened yesterday or twenty years ago. “Sexual violence” is a broad umbrella term encompassing rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and more. All of these experiences can be difficult to heal from and we are here to help.  Please call our 24-Hour Hotline at (410) 857-7322 to speak with an advocate and understand all of your options.

If you are seeking services for someone under the age of 12, please contact Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland at (410) 876-1233.

We believe you.
Healing is possible and we can help.

COVID-19 Statement

UPDATE: RCIS is excited to announce a new Virtual Walk-in Service! During scheduled hours, an advocate will now be available via chat or video – no appointment needed! Simply follow this link: https://rapecrisiscc.doxy.me/crisisservices and one of our advocates will connect with you. The Virtual Walk-in Service schedule will be updated on social media each week.

RCIS has taken precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As of Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and until further notice, our office is closed to clients.

However, we are still here for you. Our office number will be monitored during regular business hours and we want to assure you that our 24-Hour Hotline will remain in service and available at 410-857-7322. Alternatively you can get in touch via email: info@rapecrisiscc.org

During this time, therapists are still providing therapy via telephone. The Wednesday evening support group has been cancelled until further notice.

Hospital accompaniments have been suspended, but advocates are always available to speak with you and share resources via the hotline. Just as a reminder, Carroll Hospital Center’s Sexual Assault Forensic Nursing program is still providing comprehensive care, evidence collection, and support for victim-survivors in need of medical services after a sexual assault.

This is a stressful, anxious time for many people, and those feelings can be even more difficult to handle when you are also struggling with the aftermath of an experience of sexual violence. Please don't hesitate reach out to talk with an advocate anytime: 410-857-7322.
